After CSS Naked Day

I am pivking up the pieces of what I discovered regarding my mark-up and thinking about how I can improve the coding to make it more accessible with the style sheet disabled. The style sheet sure should style, but should never be a cover for coding flaws. I am going to aplly some changes in nearer time, regarding the coding.

Today, I was happy to see that Islaperdida.net was featured at WPZoom in an entry featuring sites that have their Flickr photos displayed in a certain manner. Nowadays, there are many nice opportunities to show off your Flickr photos on your blog or website. Veerle Pieters once posted an entry on how to to create an XHTML valid Flickr badge, for example. Me, I am using the Flickr RSS plugin on Islaperdida.net to show the latest photos I added to my Flickr album. Now that videos have been added as a new feature on Flickr, I will be curious to find out how they can be integrated…

New projects coming up

After Morangodesign has been dealing with some database problems, everything is now working fine again. Meanwhile, I began working on some new web projects.

WordPress theme in progress

I just began working on a new WordPress theme, which will be released freely after completion. The basic planning and coding is now completed and I am beginning to brainstorm about how the graphics will look and which graphic will go and in hand with the coding. Some of the features of the theme will include:

  • Two widgets-ready sidebars
  • Featured posts section
  • Tabbed browsing in the footer
  • And, maybe, some customizable options for the theme

CSS Zengarden submission

I got to know the CSS Zengarden years ago, and was fascinated by all the beautiful designs featured there, powered by CSS. I downloaded the files back then and tried to modify them to learn about CSS. Now, I actually decided to work on a design to submit it and see if it is cool enough to be approved. This project is still in the very beginning.

While writing these lines, I note how fascinated I am by the new WordPress look and functions. By the way, now that the admin panel and its color scheme can be customized, would you like me to figure out some color schemes and offer them for download?
