WordPress 2.5 demo site
02
Just like many others out there, I am anxiously awaiting the launch of WordPress 2.5, which is scheduled for March 10, 2008. Today I found out about a demo site , run by Chris Johnston, which you can acess via a user name and a password in order to view the new backend. (me registered on the blog) While the navigation structure practically remains, except for the former presentation section, which is now called “design”. What striked me right away was the new kind of widget management. Formally, you could add and remove the widgets by drag and drop. Now, you can drag and drop the widgets in order to add them to your sidebars.
When wanting to remove a widget, you need to click on “edit”, which opens the widgets options, and then click “remove”. A new feature is the possibility to sort the widgets into “used” and unused, which makes it easier to organize yourself and your sidebar content.
Thank you Chris for offering this opportunity ![]()
