WordCamp08: What a great time
01
This weekend, WordCamp 08 is taking place in Hamburg, and I have to say I had a great time so far. The sessions and presentations were very interesting and offered many new aspects for me to learn.
One session was about writing plugins for Wordpress and I learned the important issues to be considered when writing a plugin, and even got to know a plugin framework to begin plugin writing and test them on a local installation.
Another interesting session was about weblogs and usability and answered questions like: What do I put into my sidebar and my blog navigation? Are social bookmarking buttons really necessary? An essential point to discuss.
I even held my own small presentation, introducing the Sandbox Theme. I still feel honoured having been able to speak here at WordCamp.
On Saturday evening, for the first time ever, selected bloggers read texts from their blogs to the audience and I enjoyed it a lot. All authors have a fantastic writing style combined with great entertainer qualities that made the session a lot of fun. It is hard to believe that a session like this was never held at any other barcamp or WordCamp across the world.
To sum it all up: Nice people and atmosphere, great food and organization
I am now somewhat inspired to finish current project and to start new ones, of course. I will move on right away ![]()

Grüße!
looks like I am missing out a lot
I am keen on learning more about writing plugins on wordpress as we are just starting to make a couple after successfully doing wordpress designs for the last 3-4 months
I believe wordpress holds a strong future and now we will see more and more websites being built on wordpress?
Do you believe there can be some sort of synergy between our work - I am keen on exploring wordpress further more and am building up a team around it
