Storm is over
07
At least I hope so. The last days I could hardly use any of my WordPress installations because of some error in the MySQL databases. There was something wrong within the posts table and I could not make out what it was. All I did was deleting some old posts and pages I did not need anymore. And contacted the support. Who told me there was no problem…
When looking at my sites again I saw it really had gone…But the next error reappeared, this time it was error 13…I am not superstitious, but this was too much. After having contacted the support again, everything is ok now (For now, at least).
Flock testing
I had heard of it, but never used it until yesterday. So far, I am content using it, since some of the services I am using (Flickr, Youtube etc.) are included in a sidebar on the left side of the browser window. You can even include the account info on your self-hosted blogs in order to post to your blog directly from the browser without having to log in again. The only minus here is that the editor does not offer that many possibilities for text-editing as the Wordpress editor does.
An important feature is the possibility to predefine your font settings via Tools > Options. After defining the font type and size, all websites you open afterwards will adjust their fonts to your settings. This is a great plus for many readers of blogs who need greater fonts for better readability. Some layouts however will break down depending on how the rest of the containers and elements are set up.
Last but not least
I spiced up some elements of the site (the header, actually). Maybe I will add a tab navigation again, but this is not sure, because I did not find it to look good enough in most of the browsers. Any tips are very welcome;-)
